Huge Discount in Pokhara to attract Tourist
Tourism entrepreneurs in Pokhara have announced massive discounts to revive the tourism sector after tourist arrival in the lake city of the country saw a massive drop. Spreading the message that the impact of the earthquake of April 25 and aftershocks was minimum at Pokhara and therefore the city was safe, the entrepreneurs announced discounts in 12 sectors. Entrepreneurs have appealed to domestic and foreign tourists to visit the city with the announced discounts in all tourism related activities.
All tourists visiting Pokhara will receive 50% discount on accommodation, 20% discount at restaurants, 30% discount for trekking, 20% discount on trekking guides, 20% discount for tourist buses, 20% discount on side seeing vehicles, and 20% discount on paragliding. Likewise, 15% discount on ultra-lite flight, 50% discount on zip flying and bungee jumping, and 20% discount on purchase of garments and trekking equipments are on cards. Following the earthquake, tourists in Pokhara are in low number, while tourism related business centers including restaurants are laying off their employees. Marketplace and shops are closed as well. Entrepreneurs have begun promoting Pokhara with the message that it is safe to revive the now quiet lakeside, which during this time of the season, used to be packed with Indian and Chinese tourists.
